Call for Proposals

Sponsored by the Federation of North Texas Area Colleges and Universities

The University of North Texas is proud to host the Second Biennial
North Texas Symposium for Research in Music Education. The purpose of this symposium is to allow Music Education Graduate Students a venue in which to present research, either in initial phases, ongoing phases, or in final phases; to collaborate with graduate students from universities across the country; to establish a working support network with fellow graduate students; and to receive guidance from scholars in the field of Music Education.

Keynote speakers will be Robert Cutietta and Hildegard Froehlich.

The University of North Texas invites graduate students (Masters and
Ph.D.) nationwide to submit proposals of ongoing or completed research reports for review and consideration to be presented either in a Research Poster Session, a Research Paper Presentation Session, or a Roundtable
Discussion Session. This research should not have been previously presented.

Presentation formats:
a) Research Poster presentations will be displayed in a prominent location and will be included in a special session;
b) Research Paper presentations will be allowed 20 minutes, followed by a
five-minute question-and-answer session (funding described below);
c) Topics for round table discussion presentation will be allowed 10 minutes each, with no more than four topics per discussion group. The keynote speakers will facilitate the roundtable discussions.

Submission guidelines:

Please submit a 300-word abstract and indicate which presentation format you would be most interested in. We will try to honor your request, but
based on response might ask that you consider another format.

Please submit the abstract by e-mail to demmanuel@music.unt.edu.
Indicate contact information including name, title, university affiliation,
address, e-mail, phone, and fax numbers on a separate title page. If unable to submit electronically, two copies of the abstract may be mailed to:
